The 1500s was the time of the Renaissance era and is designated as the 16th century. The clothing of the time period for girls and women is either very flamboyant with low necklines, puffy sleeves and a full-length skirt or very conservative with a high neckline, large sleeves and a full-length skirt. "Weigel's Book of Costume", c. 1577, is a collection of clothing for the 16th century. The clothing designs are what is commonly seen in movies of the Renaissance time period. Large necklaces, earrings that dangled, large stoned rings and hair adornment were very common.

  1. Put on the undergarments of a tan corset, tan pantaloons and tan stockings that reach above the knee.
  2. Put on a long-sleeve scooped neck wool shift, also known as a chemise.
  3. Wear a long-sleeve dress with puffs at the top of the sleeves, scooped or squared neckline with a form-fitting bodice. Make sure the dress is a single-colored satin or sateen cloth and the skirt is full and not form fitting.
  4. Wear pointed-toe button-down pant boots.
  5. Place long hair up and on the head in a bun or braid. Add hair combs to the hair for adornment.
  6. Wear a large medallion-type necklace with a single stone, single stone earrings that dangle and a large single stone ring on the index finger.
