Use a blind stitch to sew the satin cord onto the edges of the veil. Insert the sewing needle from the underside of the veil and through the back of the cord. Do not insert your stitches through the entire width of cord or the stitching will be visible. Keep the stitches small and relatively spaced apart to keep them as inconspicuous as possible.

Knot the thread once you reach the end of the cord, insert the needle back through a small length of cord to hide the thread and cut off the excess thread.

Repeat Steps 2 and 3.

Embellishing With Beaded Fringe

Measure and cut a length of beaded fringe to fit along the edge of a shawl or the bottom of a purse. Beaded fringe is available with a small ribbon top that you can use to stitch or glue onto fabric, plastic, wood or metal.
Stitch the fringe along the edge of a shawl or other fabric prom accessory. Use an up and down running stitch by hand or a sewing machine. Make sure to select thread that matches the ribbon band. If you prefer to glue the beaded fringe in place, skip to Step 3.
Run a bead of liquid jeweler’s glue along the base of a fabric or nonfabric purse. Press the ribbon band at the top of the beaded fringe into the glue. Allow the glue to dry completely.
